Fluta

Environment and UI Artist for Fluta, a 2020 capstone project at MSU GameDev. Developed under mentorship with industry partner Volition.

Fluta is a 2D action-adventure platformer, with a heavy focus on exploration and narrative. Explore the world inside the walls of an old home, fighting off hostile insects and other dwellers with music!


unBOOlievable (The Mobile Game)

UXUI Lead for unBOOlievable, a semester long project for MSU GameDev, released on December 12, 2019. Now Available on the Google Play Store.

UnBOOlievable is a 3D mobile puzzle game where you use turn-based grid movement to collect candy and avoid monsters. Can you steal all their candy and escape?

unBOOlievable (The Web Game)

UXUI Designer for unBOOlievable, a four week student project at MSU GameDev, released Spring '19.

unBOOlievable is a 2D pixel puzzle game. Traverse various puzzles using grid-based movement while avoiding the many monsters searching for you. Can you steal all their candy and escape?

Lead 2D Artist & Concept Designer for benevolent, released Fall '18. Out of all games produced that semester, awarded Most Innovative amongst a panel of facultly, upperclassmen, & program alumni.

Four Benevolent Creatures of the Si Xiang rule the cardinal directions and each has a story to tell. But as time moves on, we forget our past and where we came from, and the narratives that once guided villages fade out of existence.
Move using WASD or arrow keys, interact with statues and dialogue using space, and use your mouse to play through the three main puzzles of the game!

More about Zacarias

Other than graduating as part of the MSU GameDev co-hort in 2020, Zac (aka Katrina-Monica Zacarias) also was a teaching assistant for the following generation. They oversaw student game projects, provided feedback, and lectured on game accessibility and using itch.io as a game hosting platform.Outside of the capstone, they worked on the university’s digital content accessibility team (DigitalX) for 4 years and were active in the Asian Pacific American undergraduate community through leadership roles and facilitation. Post-graduation, they held a part-time position in local arts administration and event coordination.Nowadays they work as a barista and as illustrator/owner of cute cat stationary business JamKats!They are available for freelance and contract opportunities.
